Chef Live The Chef Live kitchen will welcome eight big name chefs over the two days, each giving live cooking demonstrations and answering questions from the audience.
Included in the line-up are two-Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan of L'Enclume and Roganic, who will shortly be opening his new restaurant at the Midland hotel; and Aldo Zilli, award-winning celebrity chef and restaurateur who is now working with Manchester's San Carlo Cicchetti. Other chefs set to appear are Chris Holland from the Alderley Edge hotel; Aiden Byrne from Manchester House and Steven Doherty from the Windermere First Floor Café.
Liquor Theatre and Spirit Room Visitors to the Liquor Theatre will have the chance to watch demonstrations and competitions and sample the latest spirit brands in the adjacent Spirit Room. Manchester's Almost Famous Burgers will also be taking on Saltdog Slim's of Liverpool in an eating competition between their best and greediest bartenders.
Grape & Grain Theatre The Grape & Grain theatre will host tutored tastings of wines and beers from around the world. The schedule includes Port Street Beer House: Meet the Brewer with Summer Wine Brewery and sessions from Matthew Clark; Estrella Damm; AB Inbev and Thatchers Cider.
Fine Food Village New for 2013 the Fine Food Village will be dedicated to local and regional producers. In partnership with Game to Eat it will feature a special section promoting wild British game where visitors will see butchery demonstrations.
NRB Top 50 Awards On the afternoon of 5 March, the NRB Top 50 awards, in association with Kuits, will be announced at a special on-site reception. The awards recognise and honour 50 individuals from influential hospitality operators based in the north of England.
