Patriotic fishcakes from Accolade

A different 20g mini-fishcake for each of the four regions of the UK has joined the buffet line at Grimsby-based Accolade Foods.

Flying the flag for England is a fish, chips and mushy peas fishcake in a natural golden crumb, while Wales is represented by a smoked haddock, cheese and leek cake in a cheesy rarebit crumb coating. Ireland's entry is a whitefish cake with colcannon mash in a golden-flecked herby crumb, and for Scotland there is a salmon, tatties and neeps (potato and turnip) cake in a cracked black pepper crumb.

The fishcakes, which can be oven-baked or deep-fried and eaten hot or cold, are sold in 1kg bags of 50 fishcakes of the same kind, although mixed bags are being considered.
