Kraft Foods believes it has created a new market segment in France and other parts of Europe with its Biscuit Belvita, a crunchy biscuit bar containing wholegrain cereals, vitamins and fibre designed especially for breakfast on the go.
It says that several clinical trials have shown it provides a regular release of energising carbohydrate over a four-hour period when eaten as part of a balanced diet (this includes a piece of fruit, a dairy item and a cup of tea or coffee).
The UK launch includes a 300g box containing six individually-wrapped packs of four biscuits in Milk & Cereals and Fruit & Fibre flavours, and a 50g portion pack for food service containing four Milk & Cereals bars.
