Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge to create menu at Royal Ascot
Two-Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge is to create the menus for the Panoramic restaurant at Royal Ascot this year.
The chef proprietor of the Hand & Flowers in Marlow will devise a menu showcasing his award-winning modern British cuisine especially for the Royal Meeting, which will take place from 18-22 June.
He follows in the footsteps of three-Michelin-starred chefs Alain and Michel Roux, and Mark Sargeant who previously created the menus for Royal Ascot in 2010/2011 and 2012 respectively.
Working closely with Ascot's executive chef Steve Golding, Kerridge has devised dishes including poached lobster and late season English asparagus salad with summer truffle dressing, treacle cured beef fillet with braised shin, courgette flower and clotted cream pomme purée, tonka bean pannacotta and poached strawberries and strawberry ice cream.
Commenting on his involvement in Royal Ascot, Kerridge said: "I am delighted to be involved in Royal Ascot. This is a major part of the British social calendar and I feel immensely proud to be showcasing British food at the prestigious event."
Tom and Beth Kerridge first opened the Hand & Flowers in 2005, adding four guest rooms two years later. Since its launch the pub has picked up two Michelin stars, three AA rosettes, a Catey for Best Newcomer in 2007, a 6/10 rating in the Good Food Guide and AA Restaurant of the Year 2011/12, while Kerridge himself has won the Craft Guild of Chefs' Pub Restaurant Chef of the Year title.
