Jean-Christophe Novelli blames BA strike for missing TV appearance
Jean-Christophe Novelli has hit out at British Airways after he missed a US TV appearance because of a industrial action on the airline.
Novelli was due to fly to Los Angeles last week for the appearance, as well as several meetings, but his flight was cancelled. The Daily Mail reported that the famous chef, 49, was hoping to secure a deal for a new show in the US.
"This trip had been arranged for three months. The American ¬producers are furious about it.
"Ellen DeGeneres had invited me to come on her programme after seeing my American show, Chef Academy. I also had meetings lined up with TV producers about doing more programmes out there."
"I'm not blaming one side or the other, but this strike could have been sorted out. I can't believe they haven't been able to reach an agreement. How many chefs have the chance to crack America?"
British Airways said it could not comment on individual cases but that it had given all its customers the opportunity to re-book or get a refund as a result of strike action.
