Fine-dining restaurant in Chagford sold
An award-winning fine-dining restaurant with rooms in the Devon village of Chagford has changed hands.
The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off an asking price of £455,000 on behalf of chef-proprietor Duncan Walker.
The 22 Mill Street restaurant, a terraced property built from local Dartmoor granite, is sited on the eastern slopes of the Dartmoor National Park and enjoys year-round trade.
The business, which holds three AA rosettes and is featured in the current Michelin guide, comprises a 22-seat restaurant, a 10-seat lounge, two en-suite letting bedrooms and a paved and walled courtyard.
A recent addition is the owners' apartment, an open-plan loft and mezzanine conversion that includes an en-suite bedroom, office/kitchenette and living room.
The buyer, Helena King, also owns Browns hotel, a four-star boutique hotel, brasserie and wine bar in Tavistock which was named Town Hotel of the Year 2006 by the Good Hotel Guide.
