Café Football kicks off at Westfield Stratford City
Former Manchester United team mates Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have kicked off the launch of their new hospitality business with the opening of Café Football.
The menu, which has footballing hints throughout, has been created by two Michelin-starred chef Michael Wignall of Pennyhill Park, Surrey, in collaboration with Café Football's executive chef Brendan Fyldes.
Dishes include the Café Football burger (£9.95), Nev's Noodle Pot with chicken, egg noodles, bok choi and shitake mushrooms (£10.95), and sausage roll made from pork shoulder, black pudding and Dijon mustard, served with beans (£12.95).
The Corner Shop will serve a selection of home-made ice-creams including Vimto ripple, honeycomb and mint choc chip, while desserts will feature the half time orange, pistachio turf and a melting chocolate football.
There is a choice of 20 wines from 10 different countries, alongside a range of hand-made international craft beers.
With the focus being on football as a social event, the multiple screens around the restaurant display moments of football bringing people together from around the world.
