Buyer sought for restaurant near Launceston Castle

A restaurant opposite Launceston Castle in the ancient capital of Cornwall has come to the market.

Dezigns restaurant occupies an Art Deco-style property in Western Road, Launceston, which is on the edge of Bodmin Moor in North Cornwall.

The business, which incorporates a reception bar and a 32-seat open-plan restaurant on the ground floor, was established in 2003 by chef Gerry Buckeridge-Hobbs and his wife Serena, who provide a daily changing set menu and an à la carte menu.

It is especially renowned for its fine desserts and extensive wine list.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co is seeking offers of around £75,000 for the leasehold interest, which runs until October 2015. Rent is currently £8,000 a year.
