Award-winning Perth chef killed in motorcycle accident

Ryan Young, the award-winning head chef of the Opus One restaurant in Perth has been killed in a motorcycle accident on the A9 in Perthshire.

He died when his Yamaha bike collided with an Isuzu 4×4 on the notorious Perth to Inverness road at around 7am on Saturday, according to the Aberdeen Press and Journal.

A silver award winner in the Scottish Chef of the Year Awards, Young recently helped the restaurant retain its two AA rosettes.

He had also been nominated for the ‘Rising Star Chef of the Year's at the Scottish Hotel Awards, where Opus One had also been nominated for ‘Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year' and ‘Turnaround achievement Award'.
