M&C ‘firmly on track'

Recovery is "firmly on track" for hotel group Millennium & Copthorne after turning a £6.3m pre-tax loss into a £20.6m profit in the first six months of the year.

The group also managed to record an 8% hike in turnover to £262.7m, a 12% increase in revenue per available room, and an 8.4 point increase in occupancy to 69.5%.

In London, occupancy increased by four points to 78.5%, and average room rate by 8% to £79.45.
