Dawnay Shore adds three hotels to Paramount chain

Dawnay Shore Hotels has bought three former Hanover International hotels for £57m.

The properties will be added to the group's Paramount Hotels chain, bringing its total to 16.

The hotels are located in Hinckley, Daventry and Basingstoke and have 587 bedrooms between them.

Prew: faith in four-star market
Charles Prew, chief executive of Paramount, said the hotels were "highly complementary to our existing hotel portfolio both in geographical terms and business mix. "We remain convinced that the four-star regional hotel sector offers exciting opportunities, and this latest move demonstrates our intention of developing this attractive niche to build a major chain. Prew was formerly managing director of Hanover. Dawnay Shore bought Paramount in July for £215m. Buy this week's *Caterer* magazine for more industry news and analysis
