Toby Wand steps down as managing director of Fresh Montgomery
Toby Wand, managing director of Fresh Montgomery, is to step down from his role at the exhibition company.
He will leave the business, which organises leading trade shows Hotelympia, the Great Hospitality Show and ScotHot, among others, after 12 years to start his own exhibition consultancy business.
Wand joined Fresh RM, as it was known as at the time, in 2005 as event director for Hotelympia. Over the years his role has grown to include the managing director role at Fresh Montgomery. He has also headed up the hospitality portfolio of shows including Hotelympia, the Great Hospitality Show, IFEX, ScotHot and Independent Hotel show. During his tenure the shows have all developed significantly.
He will run IFEX in Belfast and launch a new event alongside it in 2018, but as an event consultant. The move will also see him take on an ambassadorial role for salon culinaire, which will mean that he will continue to be involved in Hotelympia and other hospitality events in the future.
Damion Angus, group managing director for Montgomery, said: "We are extremely sad to see Toby leave the business as a permanent employee. However, we are delighted that he will continue to support our growth by his ongoing involvement with the Salon Culinaire products and the launch of a new show in Belfast.
"Toby is deeply loved by his team and very well-known across the industry. I am sure they will all joining me in thanking him for his hard-work and passion. We wish him the very best of luck going forward."
Fresh Montgomery is expected to appoint a new managing director and a separate event director for the hospitality products.
