Le Manoir and the Dorchester prizes up for grabs as bids open for HA auction
Bids are now open for Hospitality Action's (HA) 10th annual Christmas online auction, including prizes from the Dorchester Collection, the Connaught and Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.
Having opened for bidding this morning at 10am, the auction's 27 prizes also include a five-star weekend for two at the Hilton Berlin, two VIP Champagne tickets for The Phantom of the Opera in London, plus gadgets such as an iPod, Kindle and Samsung Tablet.
It is hoped that donations will exceed the £4,000 raised at Christmas last year, and add to the £65,000 the charity has raised via online auction over the past 10 years.
The auction will close at 2pm, Friday 6 December. Bids are accepted here: www.32auctions.com/HospitalityAction_Auction.
The charity is also selling Christmas cards and e-cards, while the "12 Days of Christmas" campaign is set to launch 5 December with a prize up for grabs every day of the event.
Other Christmas fundraising pushes include tonight's Christmas dinner by two-Michelin-starred chefs Tom Kerridge, Daniel Clifford and Claude Bosi, plus Paul Cunningham, at Brasserie Joel in London's Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel.
So far, the HA's charitable spend for the year is up 44% on 2012, allowing 40% more applications for assistance to be processed.
Hospitality Action is a charity dedicated to the support of past and present hospitality workers, of any area or level of the industry. It runs numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual London to Paris Cycle Challenge involving high-profile chefs and hoteliers.
