How to… be great at an interview
- Always research the company beforehand.
- Be smart, dress appropriately and look "crisp".
- Be on time and smile when you arrive.
- Shake hands confidently (make sure your hands are dry).
- Maintain eye contact
- Find some common ground with the interviewer - it will improve your chances.
- Be enthusiastic and positive; don't knock former employers.
- Prepare a list of questions; ask what the next stage will be.
- Don't dwell on remuneration and package details.
- Earn brownie points with a follow-up letter.
