Tender opportunity: Hartlebury Castle Catering and Events Opportunity
Hartlebury Castle is owned and operated by Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust (Reg Charity 1127871).
Grade I-listed and set in its own grounds and parkland, the castle is a superb location from which to operate a high-quality catering business. The County Museum on site has been operational for more than 30 years, attracting up to 17,000 visitors annually.
An extensive £5m restoration project to the castle and its grounds, is due to complete in January 2018 (funded by grant support from the Heritage Lottery Fund) following which it is anticipated that there will be a significant increase in visitor footfall. On-site cafe facilities are currently operated on a pop-up basis, but as a result of the redevelopment works, which include the creation of a new standalone cafe building there is now an exciting opportunity to develop the cafe business further.
Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust is therefore looking for an experienced and innovative caterer to provide a daily catering service to visitors of Hartlebury Castle and its grounds in a manner which matches the high quality environment in which it is located. The operator will provide exclusive on-site catering for the new cafe. In addition the Trust is also seeking to appoint a number of nominated caterers for weddings, functions and other events at the castle. It is envisaged that the operator of the new cafe would be included as a castle nominated caterer for weddings, functions and other events for the duration of the contract.
Both the cafe and events opportunity offer exciting possibilities for caterers to work at a prestigious site. All applicants should have a proven track record in providing services at similar size operations, and must have strong financial stability and be able to demonstrate technical competency in the catering field.
