Cricketer Kevin Pietersen to open Surbiton bar

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen is to open a cocktail bar in Surbiton with his brother Bryan.

The controversial batsman - one of England's most successful ever - will launch the new Rubi cocktail bar with his brother in Surbiton's Maple Road on 8 July.

Bryan Pietersen already runs the Purl bar in Marylebone, and the new venture promises a "speakeasy Purl lounge" in the basement serving molecular cocktails with coffee and cake on offer during the day.

Lucy Hall, of specialist property adviser Christie + Co, negotiated the sale of the leasehold interest in the cocktail bar to the pair.
