The sixth Shoeless Joe's and the first in a planned chain of Persian restaurants called PerSia will be opening at the £100m Great Northern Warehouse retail and leisure complex being developed in Manchester by Morrison Merlin.

The Shoeless Joe's restaurant, bar and club will be the group's first outside London and its biggest, covering an area of 15,000sq m. It is expected to open in the summer, ideally in July or August.

PerSia, which will start trading in March, is the latest idea of Nader Haghighi's Parisa Group, which currently operates 17 Café Parisa outlets across the country.

Its 706sq m pilot site in Manchester will include theatre-style cooking from an open kitchen and live entertainment through the week.
