Berkeley Square debut for Wayfield
Bar Circa in London's Berkeley Square has become the first acquisition by new bar and restaurant company Wayfield.
The company was formed six months ago by Abdullah Faithel, a Saudi Arabian businessman who has operated bars in the UK before, and Eddie Davenport, a descendent of the Midlands brewery family.
At least £150,000 will be spent refurbishing Wayfield's new acquisition to target the 20-35 age group.
The operation features a restaurant at lunchtime, a bar in the early evening and a disco after 11pm in the basement.
The 25-year lease was acquired from Allied Domecq, represented by Shelley Sandzer & Co. Rent has been set at £155,000 a year.
Wayfield plans to acquire five more outlets over the next 18 months. Negotiations are nearly complete on an outlet in Chelsea, known as Come the Revolution, which is owned by GrandMet Estates.
