Telford-based manufacturer donated a new IM Gen2 ice-maker to its local sports team
Hoshizaki UK has donated a new IM EliteCube ice-maker to its local Newport Salop Rugby Club to meet growing drink requirements in the club’s bar.
The Telford-based club initially reached out to Hoshizaki for support on supplying ice for its annual ball and a Sevens tournament.
The refrigerator and ice-maker went further than the request, also donating a new ice IM Gen2 EliteCube machine for the club to keep permanently. This has allowed the site to keep up with high demand in their bar area for iced drinks.
Additionally, the ice can be used for tending to general knocks and scrapes obtained during games and training sessions.
Simon Frost, director, Hoshizaki UK and Ireland, said: “Hoshizaki is committed to putting action behind our policies, which is why we were so delighted to be able to support a local cause with the donation of one of our new EliteCube ice machines. Until recently, Newport Rugby Club relied on bagged ice for events, which was cost-intensive and inconvenient. Now, with their new machine they have a constant supply of high-quality ice that members and fans are sure to appreciate the marked improvement of.”
John Churan, production control director for Hoshizaki Europe, added: “Over the years, several of our employees from the manufacturing facility have either played at or visited the club on a regular basis. As a company we’re committed to going beyond being just an employer to the local area, by striving to support local initiatives that benefit the wider community. It’s great to see products made in Telford serving the local community.”
Hoshizaki launched the Gen2 IM-Cube series last year, available in four core models; the Cube, FlexiCube, UltraCube, and the most advanced version, the EliteCube, which features UV light sanitisation.
