Kuishi has unveiled what it says is the UK’s first carbon-positive dispensing solution for hotel bathrooms, designed to reduce single-use plastic waste. The refillable dispensers are made from glass and the production processes uses low-carbon manufacturing and renewable energy where possible. Kuishi partners with organisations such as Carbon Sense, which calculates its products’ carbon footprint and arranges to ethically offset carbon.

Ariane fine porcelain is now available through Lockhart Catering Equipment. The range comprises five lines, including Equinox, with a black glaze inspired by a celestial landscape, and Lir, which features asymmetric blue and white waves, designed to emulate rugged coastlines. All ranges are microwave and dishwasher safe. The porcelain is a high alumina material, which minimises the risk of chips, and the shatter-proof design means any breakages result in clean, manageable pieces.

Hoshizaki has released the IM Cube series of ice-makers, with an enhanced motor designed to deliver energy and water savings. The four models include entry-level model, Cube, with a new variable-speed direct current pump to provide a power burst; Flexicube, which features an internal drain pump; Ultracube, which has UV light sanitisation; and Elitecube, which combines all these features. All models can produce ice cubes from 25mm sq to 32mm sq, ice balls or ice blocks measuring 48 x 48 x 58mm.

Kennet Crayfish Company has launched a craft gin using crayfish claw shells. The distilling process, in partnership with Hawkridge Distillers, releases a sweet, delicate taste from the claws to create a mellow gin with flavours of riverside botanicals. The spirit is fresh on the nose, sweet on the palate and delivers a citrus and herbal complexity. Kennet Crayfish gin is available in two sizes – a 5cl taster bottle and a full-size 70cl bottle.

Brakes has launched almost 40 new vegan products, including three into its Sysco Simply Plant Based range. The new ‘Simply’ products include Sysco Simply Plant Based Vegballs, Sysco Simply Plant Based Sausage Rolls and Sysco Simply Plant Based Falafel. To support operators catering to vegan customers, Brakes has created a Vegan Hub on its website, showcasing a range of new resources, including menu plans and recipes to help identify plant-based solutions to add to menus.
