Hensol Castle Distillery gains agreement for national factored listing with the drinks giant
Major drinks company Molson Coors, which owns brands including Carling, Doom Bar and Rekorderlig, has agreed to list four lines from south Wales-based Hensol Castle Distillery.
The agreement will see a selection of the distillery’s spirits available to bars, pubs, restaurants and leisure venues across the UK through the Molson Coors network.
The move gives Molson Coors’ customers access to a curated selection of spirits, while Hensol Castle will see its craft spirits introduced to a broader on-trade audience.
Featured in the initial roll-out are Hensol Castle Welsh Dry Gin (70cl), Hensol Castle Spiced Rum (70cl), Benjamin Hall Vodka (1.5 litre), and the Benjamin Hall London Dry Gin (1.5 litre) house-pour range.
The latter pays homage to former Hensol Castle resident Benjamin Hall, who played a key role in restoring the Houses of Parliament and may have even inspired the name of Big Ben.
Martin Anderson, regional sales controller at Molson Coors, said: “We’re excited to add Hensol Castle to our extensive on-trade distribution portfolio, bringing the unique offering of their portfolio to customers near and far. Hensol Castle Distillery is located near our National Contact Centre, who are particularly excited about this partnership and the opportunity to share Hensol Castle with customers locally.”
Chris Leeke, managing director and co-founder of Hensol Castle, said the new partnership is a “game-changer” for the distillery. “Working with Molson Coors allows our spirits to reach new audiences and brings our castle-crafted quality to bars and restaurants right across the UK. We are incredibly proud of what we produce here in south Wales, and we cannot wait to see our bottles behind bars nationwide,” he added.
Earlier this year, Molson Coors secured exclusive US rights to mixer brand Fever Tree in a £71m deal.
