Leeds-based brewer Horsforth Brewery has purchased its first pub, taking over Fuggle & Golding in Ilkley.
The brewery was founded by Mark Costello in 2017.
Announcing the news on Instagram earlier this week, the business stated: “Well this is a big one! We are delighted to announce we have taken the reigns at Fuggle and Golding!!
“When we saw they were going to close we were determined to not lose another great venue from the local beer scene.”
Fuggle & Golding opened in Leeds Road in 2015 but closed at the end of last month.
Following the acquisition, the pub will continue to operate as a specialist craft beer bar, with drinks including Horsforth Brewery beer alongside a range of guest breweries.
The post went on to say that the brewery is “doing this solo”, with no outside interests, investors, or loans.
It added: “We’ve always been determined to grow our business in a healthy and sustainable way; it may have (absolutely has) been tough over the years but we’ve got ourselves in a position to take us to the next level in a sustainable way.”
Horsforth Brewery also has a taproom at its brewery site in New Road Side in Leeds.
