It comes less than six months after Alana Buckley, former managing director at Kerb Events, joined the business
Jimmy Garcia Catering has secured B Corp accreditation.
The caterer joins the likes of Houston & Hawkes, Dinner Ladies and Lettice Events, which are also B Corp certified.
Jimmy Garcia Catering was founded by chef owner Jimmy Garcia in 2011 after he turned his living room into a 25-seater restaurant.
Since then, his catering business has worked with clients including Gucci, Google, Meta and the Royal Palaces.
In 2020, the chef was also involved in the world’s first single-use plastic free and fully vegetarian kitchen event at Davos WEF.
The caterer regularly donates surplus food from events to the Oasis Community Fridge in Waterloo.
Last year, it appointed Alana Buckley, former managing director at Kerb Events, as managing director of Jimmy Garcia Catering, who made it clear it was her ambition to secure B Corp certification for the business.
Garcia said: “Fifteen years on from launching a supper club in my front room, achieving Certified B Corporation status marks a significant milestone for Jimmy Garcia Catering and our team.
“The B Corp process has strengthened our long-standing commitment to sustainability, sharpening our focus on the responsibilities we hold to our people, our communities and the wider sector. Certification is just the beginning, and we look forward to working even more closely with our supply chain, venue partners and clients to continue raising standards and delivering meaningful impact.”
There are over 9,000 B Corp businesses operating across 96 countries and 162 industries.
