The celebrity chef is about to celebrate his 100th restaurant in May
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global has partnered with Fairmont Cheshire to open Gordon Ramsay at the Mere this summer.
It will become the hotel’s signature restaurant once the property completes its rebrand as Fairmont Cheshire, the Mere following a multimillion-pound refurbishment, which will result in newly designed guest rooms, public spaces and wellness facilities.
According to press materials, the project will “elevate the resort to a new level of luxury” and mark Fairmont Hotels and Resorts’ fifth UK site.
The opening also marks the continued relationship between Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global and Fairmont, which has seen a series of partner restaurants at the Savoy in London, home to Savoy Grill, the River Restaurant and the Michelin-starred Restaurant 1890.
News of the upcoming launch comes soon after reports of Ramsay opening his 100th restaurant this May at 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London, which is already home to Lucky Cat and the newly Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High.
The UK’s first Hell’s Kitchen is also due to open next month at the Cumberland in London’s Marble Arch, further details of which were announced this week.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global was founded in 1998 and has since become one of the largest privately-owned restaurant groups in the UK, with more than 30 restaurants.
It also operates more than 60 restaurants across the US, South Korea, France, Singapore and numerous other international destinations. To date, the restaurant group holds nine Michelin stars.
The Mere is located within the grounds of a historic estate first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.
In 2023, it was confirmed the 157-acre resort on the outskirts of Knutsford will be managed by Fairmont in partnership with Dubai-based developer Select Group, which bought the property in 2022.
