The casual dining brand has agreed terms to take a site in Nelson Mandela Place
Dishoom is to open its first restaurant in Glasgow this summer having agreed terms to take a site in Nelson Mandela Place.
The group is advertising for positions in its second Scottish opening, amid a period of rapid expansion.
Commercial agent Savills confirmed the group had agreed a 20-year lease on a 7,000 sq ft space dating to 1877.
John Menzies, director in the retail team at Savills Scotland, said: “Agreed off market, this is another fantastic deal for Glasgow and is testament to its popularity as a key food and beverage location.”
Earlier this month it was revealed Dishoom has also agreed terms to open its first site in Leeds.
Dishoom hired nearly 300 new staff members last year as its sales passed £100m for the first time.
Last month the group, which takes its inspiration from the Irani cafés of old Bombay, said it was also close to securing a site in New York, for its first overseas restaurant in the US.
Dishoom operates 10 restaurants under its main brand, including a 235-cover site in Battersea Power Station that launched in 2023, and Permit Room bars in Brighton, Cambridge and Oxford.
