Adam Tooby-Desmond has been appointed head chef at the two-Michelin-starred Trivet in London’s Bermondsey.
He appears to have taken over from chef Lukas Juhaniak, who was appointed to the role in mid-2024 after three years at the restaurant.
Tooby-Desmond joins Trivet from the two-Michelin-starred Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, where he was head chef.
He trained at Westminster Kingsway College in London (now called Capital City College), before becoming an apprentice at the University of Cambridge’s St John’s College in 2011.
He then spent two years at Mark Poynton’s Michelin-starred Alimentum restaurant in Cambridge, working his way from demi chef de partie to junior sous chef, before joining Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in 2017.
Trivet was founded by chef Jonny Lake and sommelier Isa Bal in 2019 with the aim of serving approachable yet refined food. The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in 2022 and secured its second in 2024.
