Marco Mura, general manager at the two Gate restaurants in London’s Islington and Hammersmith, has crafted a cocktail inspired by pop star Dua Lipa’s viral TikTok sensation, where she combines pickle brine with cola for a spicy, sweet combination.

 

The cocktail ups the ante with the addition of gin and a pickle garnish, for a drink with a pickle punch and the jalapeño’s fiery twist.

 

Ingredients

  • 20ml dill pickle brine
  • 50ml gin
  • ½tsp hot jalapeño relish
  • Cola
  • 2 dill pickle slices

Method

Fill a large copa glass with ice. Strain approximately 20ml of brine from the pickle jar into the glass.

 

Add the gin and hot jalapeño relish and top up with cola. Garnish with the dill pickle slices.
