Megadeth Beer Co, founded by Dave Mustaine, vocalist and guitarist in thrash metal band Megadeth, is launching its Rattlehead beer range in the UK. The range, named after Megadeth’s song Rattlehead, includes a pilsner, an IPA and a low-alcohol IPA, in 440ml cans. The 4% abv pilsner is a golden lager brewed with British hops, featuring sweet malt notes; the 4.5% hazy IPA has tropical fruit and citrus aromas, while the IPA Zero 0.5% non-alcoholic beer is crisp and refreshing.

Enborne Vineyards in West Berkshire has introduced All Angels No 36, a English sparkling wine. The drink is a twist on the winemaker’s English classic cuvée, with fewer bubbles and softer acidity. Made with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the 12% abv sparkling wine has tasting notes of brioche, green apple and citrus, with hints of peach and a floral aroma.

Scottish distillery Highland Boundary has launched botanical syrups made from hand-foraged botanicals and sugar made from UK sugar beets. The syrups offer a flavour boost for cocktails, mocktails and desserts and come in five flavours: Scots Pine has a creamy, toffee-apple, vanilla and lightly smoky taste; Gorse has a marzipan-like flavour; Honeysuckle has a floral flavour with an essence of honey; Rosebay is a floral syrup similar to pomegranate; and smoky fermented Scots Pine Mugolio can be used to make an Old Fashioned cocktail.

Roley’s, the beer brand founded by former professional rugby player Stewart Rowley, has launched Super Natural Lager. The lager is brewed to have 35.8% fewer calories than other mainstream 4.4% abv lagers, and contains 0.1g of sugar, 5g of carbs and naturally brewed B3 niacin, B5 pantothenic acid, B6 pyridoxine and B9 folic acid. Super Natural Lager has been produced using Roley’s proprietary SmartBrew process, which allows the brewer to ferment beer more than 10 times faster than traditional methods.

Kazimo Mixers has unveiled a range of canned cocktail mixers to pair with any spirit. The 150ml canned mixers are made using natural ingredients and come in four flavours: passion fruit is suited to a sparkling passionfruit spritz; rhubarb would work in a rhubarb paloma; and the spicy watermelon and yuzu flavours would both be perfect in a margarita.

Kingfisher Drinks has launched Sagres Sol & Mar, a twist on the well-known Sagres lager. The beer is 4% abv, creating a light, crisp drink brewed with a touch of sea salt from Portugal’s Algarve coast.

Monin has added a flavour to its fruit mixes range: Monin Blackcurrant Fruit Mix, available through UK importer Bennett Opie. The purée-syrup hybrid contains at least 50% fruit, meaning mixologists can recreate the flavour and texture of the fruit in a drink without the need for additional syrup.
