Valentine & Cuisinequip have launched the Vito FT Connect, a handheld oil tester with Bluetooth connectivity. The device uses Total Polar Material (TPM) analysis to measure oil degradation and has a traffic light system to give a clear, instant signal on whether to continue using the existing oil or replace it. The tester can monitor up to 12 fryers per device, with all measurements automatically uploaded and stored, generating HACCP-compliant reports.

Mechline Developments has introduced it latest AquaTechnix tap, the TX-i, a contactless tap that helps reduce the number of touchpoints in a kitchen. The taps feature extended battery life – designed to run for up to five years or 365,000 hand-washing cycles – and enhanced anti-bacterial properties. The IP67-rated infrared sensor technology instantly detects hand motion without false triggers and provides instant shut-off to save water. The tap is available in two sizes, 200mm and 300mm, and can be fitted onto countertops.

Leafe has launched an all-in-one food safety programme, Leafe Pro. The programme allows businesses to run their own food safety compliance by keeping all data in the cloud. Certified specialists create or review food-safety management systems for a venue, while cleaning schedules, risk assessments and other compliance templates are pre-loaded into the Leafe app. Leafe also provides a 24/7 food-safety hotline to resolve urgent queries.

FEM (Foodservice Equipment Marketing) has introduced Winco 87 litre slimline waste bins with a compact narrow footprint. The bins are designed for heavy daily use in commercial environments, with a reinforced bottom and rolled edges, as well as being resistant to corrosion from cleaning chemicals. The bins are available in blue (with a recyclable waste logo), black, brown, green (with a compost waste logo) and grey, and measure 508mm wide x 280mm deep x 750mm high.

Williams has developed ThawSafe, a thaw cabinet that ensures the food’s surface temperature does not exceed 5°C, which inhibits the growth of bacteria. The cabinet is designed to thaw food faster than placing it in a fridge, and has a 75kg capacity and eight GN2x1 shelves. It has a touchscreen controller with an icon-based menu to select four programmes, three of which are preset for 75kg of food, 35 kg and low weight loads. Once thawing is complete, an alarm sounds to signal the end of the cycle.
