The restaurants are listed alongside Locatelli at the National Gallery in London and Winsome in Manchester
Pip in Manchester and Ondine in St Andrews were among 16 new restaurants that have been added to the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland’s listings this month.
Chef Mary-Ellen McTague opened Pip within Manchester’s first Treehouse hotel this March. Michelin praised the modern British restaurant for its stylish interiors and balanced cooking, which “shows pride in northwestern produce”.
The Guide also recognised chef Roy Brett’s Ondine at Seaton House hotel in St Andrews, as well as Locatelli at the National Gallery from famed chef Giorgio Locatelli, which it described as being “quite a few notches above your usual museum café”.
Other additions included Winsome in Manchester from chef Shaun Moffat and Duchy in London’s Shoreditch, opened by two alumni from Leroy, the previous iteration of the same site.
Michelin updates its recommendations each month based on its inspectors’ travels, with any additions highlighted by a ‘New’ symbol.
It does not confirm if the restaurants will receive a star, Bib Gourmand or any other awards until the formal Michelin Guide ceremony.
