Moving Venue has won Event Caterer of the Year
For over 40 years Moving Venues has delivered catering at some of the world’s most iconic venues and landmark occasions, including Royal Ascot, the Monaco and British Grand Prix, Twickenham and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
This year it delivered more than 700 events, serving 250,000 guests at brands and organisations as impressive as Rolling Stone, Google, Porsche, Save the Children and the Premier League, at venues such as Magazine London and its flagship venue Evolution London.
An example of Moving Venues’ commercial success was the transformation of 60 Great Queen Street, formerly Freemasons’ Hall. After years of securing December dates, Moving Venue was awarded the exclusive catering contract in 2024. It rebranded the venue with a bold identity, launching a fresh market position as a premium central London event space, and taking control of diary management and sales within just six weeks. This resulted in a 250% surge in event enquiries post-relaunch in January 2025.
Similarly, at Charterhouse Square, Moving Venue secured exclusive summer event dates for 2025, generating a huge uplift in revenue by developing tailored summer event products and delivering numerous high-profile occasions.
The caterer’s ability to identify new opportunities and execute them quickly has been reinforced through long-standing partnerships such as its collaboration with the British Grand Prix. Ticket sales have grown 300% at the event since 2021, supported by Moving Venues’ premium hospitality services that include bringing Michelin-starred chefs trackside, with Angela Hartnett, Atul Kochhar, Tommy Banks and Andrew Wong all cooking at the landmark event.
Innovation plays a critical role in its success. The Moving Venue Academy, launched in 2024, equips colleagues with skills to meet fast-evolving sector demands. Through practical workshops, menu development sessions and experience at its venue portfolio, the academy both provides participants with the tools they need to succeed while embedding the business in the heart of venue operations.
Meanwhile, its culinary innovation, driven by a monthly menu development Initiative, where chefs collaborate to share inspiration and best practice, and sustainability-focused practices, ensures menus are seasonal, locally sourced and environmentally responsible. It has resulted in the introduction of ‘interactive asparagus stations’ in April and ‘nostalgic strawberry stations’ in June, which bring seasonality and provenance to life for clients.
Beyond the kitchen, Moving Venues continues to invest in environmental innovation to meet its ambition of being carbon-neutral by 2030 through initiatives such as its aerobic food waste digester, zero-to-landfill operations, and its Green Levy, which gives clients a direct opportunity to support environmental action.
All of these efforts have contributed to impressive organic growth. Central to this growth has been its success in securing and developing new venue partnerships and contracts. One example is a major multi-year deal to be exclusive catering partner for Somerset House’s Summer Season 2026, for which Moving Venues predicts the contract will generate a seven-figure revenue stream and is expected to be a major driver of growth in 2026 and beyond. This is clearly a caterer who is going places.
“Moving Venue has demonstrated clear growth over the past year with new initiatives while remaining true to its focus on food and delivery. The academy has been an inspired addition to its portfolio, offering training to the future of the industry while also supporting its brand positioning.” Ruth Lawton-Owen
“This business clearly demonstrates a spirit of innovation that is being rewarded with very positive advances in sales.” Tim Jones
“The Moving Venue Academy was the standout part of all of the entries, clearly addressing the most pressing of challenges but also delivering growth and consistency while strengthening partner relationships.” David Kenny
