Yiamas was praised in a 2022 review in The Times for its “sense of familial continuity and personality”
A family-run Greek restaurant in Glasgow is to close next month after 15 years of trading.
Yiamas was founded by Yiannis Bantouvakis in 2012. Since his death in 2016, the Greek street food taverna has been run by his wife Linda and daughter Stascia.
The restaurant was praised in a 2022 review in The Times for its “sense of familial continuity and personality… rare in a city centre given to so much churn among anonymous chain-owned bar-restaurants”.
Co-owner Stascia said: “It’s been an incredible 15 years, and we’ve met the most amazing people. Yiamas customers truly are the best, but it’s time for us to move on.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your support through the years. We’re not saying goodbye, just see you soon.”
Yiamas will close on 27 July.
