Founder Elia Sebregondi said he needed time “to process the loss”

Italian restaurant group Officina 00 has been “forced” to close its London sites amid a series of challenges.
Founder Elia Sebregondi wrote on Instagram that he had done "everything in my power" to keep the business going but had now closed its three London restaurants.
Officina 00 was founded by friends Sebregondi and Enzo Mirto, who grew up together in Naples. After settling in London, they worked across Soho House and Kiln before deciding to devise their own concept.
Taking its name from the Italian word for ‘workshop’ or ‘lab’, combined with the double-zero – the finest grade of flour – their first restaurant launched in London’s Old Street in 2019.
The duo operated three Officina 00 restaurants at its peak, including in London’s Fitzrovia and Covent Garden, the latter having opened in March this year.
Chef Sebregondi said in an Instagram post: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Officina 00 restaurants have now permanently closed.
“I have done everything in my power to overcome the many challenges faced in the last few months, but despite all efforts I have been forced to close down.
“I would like to thank our team for their dedication and hard work, as well as our beloved customers, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your support and for embracing my food with such warmth. Your love gave meaning to every dish I created. Cooking has always been my greatest passion, and sharing it with you has been the most rewarding part of this journey.
“As much as I now need time to process this loss, I’m also looking at the future with positivity. My passion is still very much alive, and I will continue to create, to dream, and to bring new ideas to life.”
All three restaurants appear to have been removed from the OpenTable booking network.
