When receiving her Acorn earlier this year, Yasmin was praised for her mix of commercial acumen and inclusive leadership
Abroza Yasmin, the former food and beverage manager of Stamford Bridge hotel London, has moved to Mercure George Washington Hotel Golf and Spa, in Newcastle, where she has taken up the role of food and beverage manager.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Yasmin, who won an Acorn earlier this year, wrote: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as food and beverage manager at Mecure George Washington Hotel Golf & Spa!”
Speaking to The Caterer, Yasmin said: “I am enthusiastic about the year ahead and focused on making a strong impact across the hotel’s food and beverage operation, while continuing to develop my leadership skills.”
She added that her role will span a “diverse operation that includes a destination restaurant, Carter & Fitch, new food and beverage offerings at the golf facilities, and a strong, growing meetings, events, and weddings business”.
Yasmin joined Stamford Bridge hotel in September 2024. Prior to that, Yasmin was at the hospitality firm behind Gino D’Acampo’s branded restaurants, Upmarket Leisure. She first worked as restaurant manager, then moved into the role of Radio rooftop senior restaurant manager. She has also worked at DoubleTree by Hilton Tower of London and Canary Riverside Plaza hotel in London’s Canary Wharf.
When receiving her Acorn earlier this year, Yasmin was praised for combining commercial acumen with inclusive leadership, including her pioneering F&B work-immersion programme for young people with autism. The initiative has already led to permanent employment for one participant and will be extended to the hotel’s housekeeping department next academic year.
