Glasgow wins first prize for stylish hotel brand’s UK introduction

The UK’s first Prize by Radisson hotel will debut in 2026 on the doorstep of Glasgow’s world-famous SEC and OVO Hydro events venue

Renowned for its vibrant and fresh design, Prize by Radisson offers a lifestyle experience with a unique personality, featuring bright, energised spaces ideal for modern living, work, and social interaction.

 

Upon opening in 2026, Glasgow’s Prize by Radisson will include 163 guest rooms, where guest comfort is at the centre of the design while vibrant colours, patterns and furnishings add bold character.

 

The ground floor will feature a bar and all-day dining concept, offering a large, open space for guests to relax and socialise. It will be an ideal venue either pre or post event for those visiting the nearby SEC and OVO Hydro, which together attract more than 2.5 million visitors annually.

Since its launch in 2009, Prize by Radisson has redefined the midscale design hotel concept by merging smart lifestyle elements with affordable accommodation. The conversion-friendly properties offer an enhanced experience at the investment cost of an economy hotel. The compelling design proposition brand commands high GOP margins (+50%) and has a lean operating model.

 

Currently, Prize by Radisson has over 20 properties across Europe, including locations in Vienna, Antwerp and Hamburg. The Glasgow hotel represents a key step in the brand’s strategic growth, and joins the wider Radisson Hotel Group’s rapidly growing portfolio, which includes almost 80 hotels in operation and under development in the UK & Ireland.
