Uber Eats takes action after BBC sign up to app with no food hygiene rating

Uber Eats said it has taken "immediate action" to update its sign up requirements after the BBC was able to start delivering food despite having no food hygiene rating.

BBC News signed up with the delivery platform under the name Best Burger Corporation stating it would secure a rating in due course and was able to deliver a burger cooked on a BBQ in a front garden.

Heather Hancock chair of the Food Standards Agency said she was "almost speechless with horror" after watching the footage.

Uber Eats responded: "We are deeply concerned by this breach of our food safety policy and have taken immediate action to update our sign up policy."
