Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom leans into the popularity of venues such as Albert’s Schloss, promising a more “sociable” day-to-night experience.
Stonegate Group has invested £1m into its new leisure concept, Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom, which is set to open later this year in Leeds.
The UK’s largest pub company operates a range of brands including Sports Bar & Grill, Slug & Lettuce, Be At One and Proper Pubs.
Stonegate will convert a former Walkabout site – a brand that it acquired in 2016 – into Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom, which will offer a more “sociable” experience through its offer of live music, all day dancing, beer hall tables and live sport.
The city-centre site has been dubbed a “beerhall for cocktail lovers”, having taken its name from the margarita drink.
It comes amid the growth of venues such as Albert’s Schloss, which brought its Bavarian beer hall concept into London for the first time this year.
David McDowall, chief executive of Stonegate Group, said: “In the past few years, the way in which guests socialise has rapidly changed. Going out remains a real priority, but guests are going out at different times and searching for engaging, entertaining venues, and new types of experiences.
“Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom brings all of that together with a day-to-night experience like no other. It’s a place where everyone is welcome, and anything can happen!”
Stonegate’s first Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom is due to open in the beginning of December.
