The latest hospitality venues to open their doors across the UK in October 2024
Cozy pub season is officially here. Across the UK, we have the likes of the Mason’s Arms opening in the Cotswolds, while the Great Bustard country pub with rooms has launched in Wiltshire, offering fresh Durnford Estate produce.
Later in the month, we will see the opening of a host of social media-famous venues, such as New York-stye bagel shop It’s Bagels and dive bar Below Stone Nest, while international hotel group Hyatt has delivered its first UK Park Hyatt property in London’s Nine Elms.

Black Bear Burger is set to open its sixth site in London’s Camden. The 50-cover restaurant is split into two floors and will also offer the option for outdoor seating. Co-founder Stew Down grew up on a beef farm in Devon and brings this ethos to the meats available at Black Bear Burger.

Australian-style sushi brand Rolled has launched its second Manchester venue nine weeks after its debut at the Trafford Centre. The team have revealed plans to open between six to eight additional sites in 2025 and each roll of sushi is priced at roughly £3.50.

Glaswegian couple Joe and Amalia Lazzerini have launched the Loveable Rogue gastropub in Strathbungo. The 40-cover site offers quirky interiors and rustic flooring, as well as a 20-cover enclosed outdoor seating area. On Sundays, the roast menu includes classic roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.

Italian restaurant Lina Stores has opened in London’s Shoreditch in a Grade II-listed former bank dating back to 1868. The 87-cover ground-floor site serves a selection of fresh pasta, antipasti, secondi and desserts, while the basement offers the second iteration of Bar Lina, which takes its inspiration from 1970s Italy.

The team behind Watergate Bay, Another Place and Beach Retreats has launched SeaSpace, a lifestyle aparthotel concept operating in Cornwall. It features 56 studios and apartments, as well as a café, bar, a Padel tennis club and a health club with a 19m Miami-style swimming pool.

The Court restaurant has opened at the Caledonian Edinburgh, which recently transitioned into a Curio Collection by Hilton property. It offers an all-day dining menu created in partnership with chef Mark Greenaway, which showcases seasonal Scottish ingredients.

Puglia-inspired restaurant Terra Mare has opened in Cardiff, bringing the flavours of Southern Italy to the Welsh capital. Chef Francesco Germinario has drawn on his roots to create a menu offering both a selection of small plates as well as a seven-course tasting menu.

Ireland-based Dalata Hotel Group has launched the group’s fifth hotel in London, Maldron Hotel Shoreditch. The 157-room property expands Dalata’s UK portfolio to 23 hotels. It is also home to a fitness suite, self check-in pods, the Grain & Grill bar and restaurant and Red Bean Roastery coffee dock.

Alice Norman, the former head chef of Woodhouse Restaurant Group’s Emilia, which was previously in London’s Mayfair, has evolved her farm-to-table takeaway bakery on Maple Farm, Suffolk, into a café. She has also revealed plans to host evenings on the farm with chefs across the UK.

Young’s is growing its portfolio of pubs with rooms with the launch of the Teller’s Arms in Farnham, Surrey. The former bank has been transformed into a 168-cover pub with nine boutique bedrooms, a roof terrace and meeting and events spaces. It is headed by chef Ryan Patterson, who has created a menu with a focus on seasonal British produce.

The team behind hit Indian pub the Tamil Prince in London’s Islington has launched a new restaurant, Tamila, in south London. Co-founder and executive chef Prince Durairaj pays homage to his south Indian heritage throughout his menu, which features a mix of bread, dosas and large snacks.

The UK’s first Park Hyatt has launched in London’s Nine Elms. The 203-room hotel includes 34 suites and an additional 103 residences. The purpose-built 18-storey property has been created by KPF Architects and also features a 20m by 8m indoor swimming pool, a full-service spa and four F&B outlets.

Family-owned pub company Polygon Public House is set to open its second gastropub in London’s Clapham. The Ox is taking over the former site of the Saxon, which was acquired from the East London Pub Co. It will feature a main bar, a 30-cover mezzanine restaurant, a 55-cover private events space and a rooftop terrace. Head chef Darren Everts will be leading the kitchen.

Brothers Frank (Frank’s Café, London’s Peckham) and Jackson Boxer (Brunswick House, London’s Vauxhall) are set to reopen their dive bar Below Stone Nest, which is located beneath arts organisation and performance venue Stone Nest in London’s Soho, with its first snack menu and selection of highball-focused drinks.

Sam and Georgie Pearman, the duo behind Country Creatures and the Double Red Duke in Bampton, are expanding their reach in the Cotswolds with the upcoming launch of the Mason’s Arms. The 16th-century inn features ancient flagstone floors, a reclaimed church panel bar and three fireplaces. It will be welcoming rooms later in the new year.

The Great Bustard, a country pub and farm-to-table restaurant with rooms and spa, has launched in Wiltshire. Head chef Jordan Taylor is creating dishes cooked from the Great Durnford Estate’s produce, which can be paired to a wine list featuring the first year of Otarda red from the family estate in Tuscany. Guests can stay in one of the Great Bustard’s 10 bedrooms and receive aromatherapy massages or facials in the treatment room.

Dan Martensen is launching his third iteration of New York style bagel shop It’s Bagels in London’s Soho, just months after his Notting Hill opening. Previous guest chef sandwiches such as Jesse Jenkins AKA ADIP’s ‘The Grinder’ and Secret Sandwich Shop’s ‘Salt Beef Bagel’ will be available in limited numbers each day.

Matt Harris and Tommy Kempton, the founders of Ploussard and Other Side Fried, are set to open Buster’s burger bar in London’s Brixton. The burgers will be cooked to medium and served with a potato roll that has been developed in-house.
