The restaurant is selling off its fixtures and fittings after its closure, including chairs, wines and champagnes.
The site of fine dining restaurant L’Ortolan has been put up for sale off a guide price of £1.25m.
The Berkshire restaurant, which at one time held two Michelin stars, closed at the end of August after 23 years of trading.
It is being marketed by Savills, which said accounts showed L’Ortolan had consistently generated net turnover of £1.5m.
The restaurant building is a Grade II-listed former Vicarage which includes an 80-cover dining room, patio terrace, gardens and office spaces.
Following its closure L’Ortolan is selling off its fixtures and fittings on its website, including furniture, paintings, glasses, wines and champagnes.
Savills said: “The restaurant operates as a high end destination premises, having secured many accolades and is one of Reading’s only fine dining restaurant, with modern French cuisine.”
The restaurant was run by Nico Ladenis as Chez Nico until John Burton-Race took over the site and reopened it as L’Ortolan in 1986.
It was awarded two Michelin stars in 1988 while under the co-ownership of Jacobs Media chairman Clive Jacobs.
L’Ortolan held a Michelin star for 19 years between 2003 and 2022 and was listed in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland until its closure.
