A planning application to convert the eight-storey building into a 507-bedroom hotel is currently pending approval.
Historic London nightclub Tiger Tiger has closed after 26 years of trading, with planning applications indicating the site could be converted into a 507-bedroom hotel.
The flagship Tiger Tiger opened in Haymarket in 1998 and is owned by Novus Leisure, which according to Companies House owed £91,156 in the period ended 31 December 2023.
A statement on the Tiger Tiger website read: “Tiger Tiger London is now closed. Thank you to all patrons, promoters, DJs, managers, staff members and partners for years of incredible memories.”
Meanwhile, proposals to convert the Tiger Tiger site into a hotel with a new eighth floor and roof top plant screen is pending approval from Westminster City Council.
An application for the “conversion and extension of the existing building to create a hotel” was submitted by Centro Planning Consultancy on behalf of a client in May this year, while Ryder Architecture provided the design and access statement.
The 15-page planning statement said the hotel would comprise Haymarket House, an eight-storey art deco style building with two basement levels formerly in office use, with a restaurant, comedy club and nightclub (Tiger Tiger) at the ground floor and basement levels.
Under the current proposals, the property would deliver 507 bedrooms, 10% of which would be wheelchair accessible.
