Hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co will open its first hotel, the Newman, in London’s Fitzrovia in winter 2024.
The 81-bedroom hotel is set to feature a European brasserie restaurant, a cocktail bar, a wellness floor with a salt therapy room and hydrotherapy pool, and a rooftop floor available for exclusive use.
The property is being designed by Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Lind + Almond, who were behind Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen and Bob & Cloche in the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire.
The Newman will feature a contemporary Art Deco aesthetic and was inspired by local residents such as poet, heiress and fashion icon Nancy Cunard, who has been described as Fitzrovia’s bohemian queen.
The hotel’s brasserie and outdoor terrace is set to seat 120 guests and its menu will showcase seasonal British ingredients.
Kinsfolk & Co was founded this May by Paul Brackley, former managing director of Corbin & King’s Beaumont hotel in London’s Mayfair. His team have worked for famed properties such as the Goring, Firmdale Hotels, the Standard and the Milsom Hotel & Restaurants.
Earlier this month, the company announced two new leadership hires in procurement and facilities.
Brackley said: “We are delighted to announce the Newman as our first hotel, here in Fitzrovia, where Kinsfolk & Co began. The Newman will be a grown-up and elevated but fun experience, where people can enjoy thoughtful excellence across design, service, food, and wellness – all sewn seamlessly into Fitzrovian life.”
News of the upcoming launch comes after Brackley said Kinsfolk & Co had plans to open five properties in five years.
