The 58-bedroom Riverside hotel in Kendal, Cumbria, has gone on the market with a price tag of £4.5m.
Situated alongside the River Kent beneath the ruins of the town’s 12th century castle, the hotel is one of six owned by South Lakes Hotels. It features two restaurants, two meeting rooms, an indoor swimming pool, gym and exercise studio.
Robert Smithson, associate director of Colliers, the real estate advisor marketing the property, said that the owners of the hotel were focusing on their other properties.
He said “This is a rare opportunity to buy an established hotel located in a highly popular tourist location very close to the Lake District National Park, one of the UK’s premier tourist destinations. The hotel is a successful business in its own right, benefitting from strong trade from a wide range of revenue streams."
The other properties owned by South Lakes Hotels include three hotels in Windermere: Newby Bridge hotel, Cuckoo Brow and Windermere Park B&B; Damson Dene, near Bowness-on-Windermere; and Bay Villa in Grange-over-Sands
