La Bellezza marks the Paris-based Italian restaurant group’s first UK regional restaurant.
The first images of La Bellezza in Birmingham, Big Mamma Group’s first regional restaurant in the UK, have been released.
La Bellezza is opening on 29 November as a 150-cover site inspired by a “wild, overgrown courtyard in Perugia”.
The restaurant, which is currently accepting reservations, features 5,000 vintage bottles displayed on the walls, seven-metre tapestry curtains, handmade Murano glass chandeliers and a white and green Italian marble floor.
There is also a six-metre-wide bookcase filled with vintage novellas.
Dishes include burrata filled with homemade pesto di basilico, spiced Cornish lamb linguine; truffle mascarpone spaghetti and carbonara.
Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux founded Big Mamma in Paris in 2013 and have since grown the brand to 26 restaurants across France, the UK, Spain, Germany, Monaco and Italy.
The group opened its first London restaurant, Gloria in Shoreditch, in 2019, and has since expanded to five sites across the capital.
Last year, the group opened two restaurants: Jacuzzi in Kensington and Carlotta in Marylebone.
Big Mamma’s success saw Lugger and Seydoux win the Restaurateur of the Year Catey in 2023.
