John Scott has been appointed general manager of the 50-bedroom Alderley Edge hotel in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, to oversee the £2m refurbishment of the property.
He joins the property from the 58-bedroom Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow hotel, where he spent six years, during which time he oversaw its expansion and development.
The Alderley Edge hotel is owned by family-run brewery JW Lees, which manages 35 pubs and hotels, and lets a further 115 pubs to independent licensees.
Due to start in September, the first phase of the Alderley Edge's refurbishment will involve the redesign of the restaurant and reception area, followed by the transformation of the bedrooms and Laurent Perrier Suite next year.
Scott has replaced Mark Huntley, who was at the hotel for nine months and is now general manager at the Dunalastair hotel in Kinloch Rannoch, Perth & Kinross. Previously, Ahmet Kurcer was general manager at Alderley Edge for 27 years until his retirement.
