Highland Hotel in Inverness has been acquired by the Singapore-based Buxani group.
The 134-bedroom hotel in Strathpeffer, which sits at the gateway of the NC500 touring route, had been part of the Coast & Country Collection, managed by Bespoke Hotels.
Under its new ownership it will be managed by Bangkok and UK based hotel company Compass Hospitality.
Harmil Singh, president and chief executive of Compass Hospitality, said: “The Highland Hotel is another significant addition to our fast-growing portfolio, showcasing the Scottish highland’s unique charm and heritage.
“We look forward to continue our growth and commitment to the UK hospitality market.”
In May 2023 Coast & Country Hotel Collection put 18 hotels, including the Highland Hotel, up for sale, with more properties subsequently brought to market. The properties formed part of a portfolio of 33 former Shearings hotels which had been run under a management agreement by Bespoke Hotels since 2020.
Gary Witham, a director in Christie & Co’s hotel team, who acted for the seller, added: “We are delighted to announce the Highland Hotel is joining the Compass Hospitality managed portfolio. The Scottish Highlands remain a key tourist market with strong buyer demand and the hotel is ideally positioned to capture the steady leisure and coach business.
“The hotel is one of the 33-assets put to market as part of the Coast & Country Portfolio. The properties have received very strong interest to date, and a very limited number of these assets remain available.”
The Buxani group made its debut in the UK market in 2018 with the purchase of the 117-bedroom GoGlasgow Urban hotel.
