Richoux Group, which operates Richoux cafés, Dean's Diner, Villagio and Zippers, has appointed Jonathan Kaye, former chief executive of Italian restaurant chain Prezzo, as chief executive and a director.
Kaye founded Prezzo and stepped down from the role in June 2015. He will receive up to 23,027,403 shares representing 20% of the group, and will be considered as one member of a concert party alongside other family members already in the company, including Phillip Kaye, who owns 24% of Richoux. This means the concert party stands to hold a 41.3% interest.
Edward Standring resigned as managing director from the business last month. He had been managing director of the company since 2011.
There are five Richoux sites in central London, while Italian restaurant brand Villagio has eight restaurants in London and the South East. There are nine Dean's Diner sites, modelled on 1950s US diners, while there is just one Zippers, in Chatham in Kent.
