Virgin Hotels Glasgow has been put on the market following its sudden closure in December.
The 165-bedroom luxury hotel features a ground floor restaurant and bar, mezzanine bar and lounge, flexible terrace area and a conference and events space for up to 60 delegates.
It also comes with the option for further development through the addition of 77 bedrooms, a gym, function suite, coffee shop and whisky bar.
Virgin Hotels Glasgow launched in August 2023 but closed just four months later with 130 employees made redundant in the week before Christmas.
It was the second UK hotel for the Virgin brand, following an opening in Edinburgh in 2022.
The company which operated the Glasgow hotel, V Hotel Glasgow Ltd, is understood to have had insufficient funds to continue.
Documents seen on Companies House show V Hotel Glasgow was wound up voluntarily and liquidators from FRP Advisory Trading Limited were appointed in January this year.
Steven Fyfe, director in the hotel capital markets team at Savills Scotland, which is marketing the hotel, said: “This is a rare chance for a purchaser to secure a prime asset that has been fitted out to an excellent standard in line with a luxury lifestyle hotel with the possibility of being in an income producing position from day one.
“Situated in a prime location within Glasgow city centre, the hotel is just a short walk from Glasgow Central Station and Buchanan street, as well as being in close proximity to all of Glasgow’s key demand drivers.
"Given it’s excellent credentials, we anticipate a significant level of interest from a global pool of buyers.”
