UK wholesaler Unitas Wholesale is supporting a newly launched drink-driving campaign headed by water brand Wenlock Spring.
The Doncaster company, which supplies distributors including ABV Wholesale and AF Blakemore & Sons, has backed the Shropshire bottle water company’s Christmas campaign ‘The Only One for the Road' which aims to encourage drivers to not drink any alcohol if they are driving.
As part of the campaign, Wenlock Spring has also printed more than 100,000 beer mats, posters, and tent cards with the message for drivers to avoid alcohol. The merchandise is in various Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire pubs and hotels including Brunning and Price pub the Armoury, and Albrighton Hall Hotel, both in Shrewsbury.
The campaign is running in conjunction with West Mercia Police and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Lee Wharton, trading controller at Unitas Wholesale, said: “We believe this campaign carries a very important message which should be shared and supported far and wide.
Wharton, who has spent 20 years in the brewery industry, added while most people make the right choice when it comes to drink-driving, “unfortunately there are still others who don’t”.
