The Grand Brighton completes multimillion-pound refurb

The Grand Brighton hotel has unveiled its newly restored façade, the final phase of its multimillion-pound refurbishment.

105 of the 201-bedroom hotel's bedrooms and the Victoria Bar, Lounge and Terrace have received refurbishment. The scaffolding that has covered the property's 154-year-old exterior for the last year for the installation of new windows and restoration of its balconies and Victorian façade has now been removed.

Andrew Mosley, the hotel's general manager, said: "We are so pleased to reveal our brand new façade to the community and our fellow industry colleagues. Since becoming an independent hotel in 2014, our owners have invested a significant amount in the hotel and this project is testament to our ongoing commitment to our customers and to improving the guest experience at the Grand."

De Vere sold the property in 2014 for an estimated £50m to Wittington Investments. The hotel was famously the scene of an IRA assassination attempt against Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet in 1984.
