Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2017 celebrates diversity

From family businesses to new brands, Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2017 will be celebrating diversity this September.

More than 700 producers will be exhibiting at the fair, both new and established. Nearly 200 are making their debut this year including Nut Blend, Love Cocoa, Mydorable, Dr Will's, Black Mamba and Zest & Zing Spices. At the other end of the spectrum, established speciality brands will also be showcasing including Walkers Shortbread, Billington's Gingerbread, the Fine Cheese Co. and Rombouts.

Paul Hargreaves, chief executive of Cotswold Fayre and Speciality & Fine Food Fair ambassador, said: "The show is absolutely essential for those more established brands within the sector, who still focus on this show as a way of pushing their own message that they are 100% supporting the independent retailer. Also, what better platform to launch a new brand than at Speciality & Fine Food Fair. Over the years, through our ‘meet the buyer' events and through wandering the show, we have discovered many new brands, just launching, or some of whom haven't launched yet."

For 17 years, the fair has been the launch pad for many young businesses. This year sees the introduction of a new ‘discovery zone' dedicated to up and coming producers.

Launching at the fair is Bean & Pod, a new brand of handcrafted premium filled chocolates. Jimmy Attias, for Bean & Pod, said: "Not just the right marketplace for showcasing our luxury, handcrafted artisan chocolates to the right audience - it is also a fantastic celebration of an exciting sector where new and established brands complement each other."

Gourmade will also be launching at the fair, providing high quality frozen ready meals. Joanna Devenish, co-founder, said: "As a dedicated foodie, I love to see new products emerging. This is why we're launching Gourmade at the fair."

Olly's Olives is launching the first unpasteurised snack pouch of olives with no artificial preservatives at the fair. Olly Hiscocks, founder, said: "Young businesses are what drive the speciality food sector forward. I am launching at the fair because it is one of the country's best food shows and allows you to meet a whole range of people, from small delis to big stores."

Rombouts has been sourcing, roasting and supplying premium coffee to high street supermarkets, independent retailers and delicatessens across the UK for more than 50 years. Simon Remmer, sales director at Rombouts, said: "As an established brand, Rombouts has presence at Speciality & Fine Food Fair to ensure we are getting out there to speak to our valued customers and make contact with new ones. It's a great platform to meet key decision makers and let them know about our latest product range."

Monika Linton, founder of Spanish food specialists Brindisa, said: "For three decades Brindisa has celebrated the varied cultures, landscapes and, above all, the exceptional cheeses, hams, meats, fish, and huge selection of other foods that Spain produces. However, the journey of exploration never ends, there is always more to discover."

Kara Bowen, event director, said: "Diversity is what makes Speciality & Fine Food Fair so special. It is exciting to see the brands that are emerging in the sector and what new trends are coming through. It is also just as fantastic to see the wealth of experience on show."
